Residing in Davidson County, North Carolina at the time of enlistment. Enlisted on July 16, 1862 at Wake County, North Carolina as a Private in the 14th North Carolina Infantry, Company B. POW on May 6, 1864 at Wilderness, Virginia. Confined on May 7, 1864 to Point Lookout, Maryland. Transferred on August 10, 1864 to Elmira. Died of disease as a POW.
