The following obituary was published in the Rosenberg Herald on December 10, 1972:
"Mrs. Abendroth"
Funeral services were held 10 a.m. for Mrs. Ruby Fay Abendroth, 75, a former Needville resident who died Sunday in a Clear Lake Hospital.
Rev. Robert Langham and Dr. L. D. Morgan officiated at the services held at Garmany and Co. Chapel in Rosenberg. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
A longtime Needville resident, Mrs. Abendroth had been living in Dickinson.
Survivors include her son, Bert of Pasadena; daughters Mrs. Ruth Laird of Dickinson, Mrs. Martha Smith of Hampden Sydney, Va. and Mrs. Frances Mulkern of El Paso; a brother, W. T. Ayers of Dew; and seven grandchildren.
In lieu of other remembrances, the family requests donations be made to the building fund of Howell Memorial Methodist Church in Dickinson or the library fund of First Baptist Church in Pasadena. * * *
