Mount Holly-Glenna Mae Foster Abernathy, 76, of 129 Greendale Drive, died Nov. 7, 2010. She was born in Ervin, Tenn., daughter of the late Harvey Logan Foster and Easter Waldrop Foster Chandler. She was prceded in death by one sister and three brothers. She was a Homemaker and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Earl F. Abernathy; two daughters, Sheila Carpenter and husband Bobby of Mount Holly, Ronda Abernathy of Mount Holly; one son, Dan Abernathy and wife Pam of Wingate; five grandchildren, Brian Carpenter and wife Chandra of Gastonia, Laura Ballard and husband Nick of Gastonia, Christina Dawn Kallio and husband Jon of Anderson, S.C., Leslie Mahoney and husband Tommy of Anderson, S.C., Brandon Lawson of Mounty Holly; five great-grandchildren six brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Kinman. Burial will be at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mount Holly. Memorials may be made to Family Life Center, in care of Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 3717 Hickory Grove Road, Gastonia, NC 28056.
