OKOLONA – Dezzie Bogan Barr, 54, died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2010. She was born Jan. 24, 1956, to Clayton Bogan and Charlotte Smith Bogan in the Pine Grove-Dorsey community. She was a member of Bible Way Church in Okolona. She was a seamstress, and a former employee of Futorian and Oasis Furniture.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1 at Jolly's Chapel M.B. Church with the Rev. Dr. Henry Gladney officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Williams Memorial is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Marcell Barr Jr. of Okolona; two daughters, Charlene Young (Tim) of Houston and Sherry Anderson (Sylla) of Memphis; one stepdaughter, Tomeka Barr Parker of Memphis; one son, Floyd Bogan (Jackie) of Wren; four brothers, Leon Bogan of Okolona, and Clayton Bogan Jr. (Beverly), Clarance Bogan (Toni) and Christopher Bogan (Rhonda), all of Racine, Wis.; four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Neal Bogan; and a stepson, Marcell Barr III.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today with a wake from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
