Marvin (Marv) N. Clark, born June 15, 1916, in Portland, Oregon. He married Betty Jean Erickson February 14, 1942, in Redmond, Oregon.

Marv grew up in Ten Mile, Oregon, on a farm with his aunt and uncle. He worked for the CCC, building trails in the Multnomah Falls area in 1934.

Marv and Betty first met at the Bend, Oregon pet parade in 1934 on the steps of the old Post Office, she was only 11. Later after serving in the Army until June, 1940, and Navy until January, 1942, Marv again met Betty and she caught his eye. They were married one week later in Redmond, Oregon. Marv enlisted in the Army again. He received a medical discharge in August, 1943. Marv worked at the Bend Garage and Moty and VanDyke autoparts store. While living in Lebanon, Oregon, he got polio at the age of 35. Marv went on to be a salesman for Autolite, in Portland, Oregon. He went to work for TRW in 1957, and they moved to Santa Clara, California. He worked his way up to Regional Sales Manager. He was responsible for nine western states and retired in 1980.

They bought a motorhome and traveled the US and even went to Mexico City. In December, 1988, they moved back to Bend so Betty could be with her mom, Irene Stookey, where they have remained. Survivors include his wife, Betty; son, James; daughter, Connie; six grand children and five great-grand children.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 28, 2010, at Deschutes Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel, 63875 N. Hwy 97, Bend.
