Memorial services will be held Sunday, June 8, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. in Northwood United Methodist Church in Lafayette for Anne Marie Acitelli Adams, age 50, who passed away Thursday, June 5, 2008 at her residence in Lafayette.
Ms. Adams was a native of Ashtabula, Ohio and had been a resident of Lafayette for the past 20 years. She was a member of Northwood United Methodist Church in Lafayette. In her younger years she loved to bake, cook, and play Italian melodies on the piano. She loved spending time with her children, doing church activities, cub scouts, sports, and dancing. She battled with cancer for the past seven years and had been a member of the Cancer Survivor Group. She was also very involved with the Susan Kohman Foundation and the Miles Perret Foundation.

Survivors include one son, Joseph Anthony Adams of Lafayette; one daughter, DeJeanne Maria Adams of Lafayette; two step-daughters, Suzy Adams Hebert and her husband, Jamie, of Lafayette and Melissa Adams Hienold and her husband, Darrell, of Colorado Springs, CO; two brothers, Victor Acitelli and his wife, Nancy of Ashtabula, OH and James "Jim" Acitelli and his wife, Bette of Green Valley, Arizona; and one sister, Mary Jane Schwartz and her husband, Robert, of Ashtabula, OH.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor Acitelli, Sr. and the former Virginia Nordquest.

Special thanks mentioned to Hospice of Acadiana, all the members of Northwood Methodist Church, and all those who were with her during her seven year fight with cancer.

Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, 4615 North University Avenue was in charge of arrangements.
