He was born June 7, 1910 to Thomas W. and Phoebe Bellows Haycock in Kenilworth, Carbon County, Utah. The fourth of 11 children. Married Edna Spencer Dec. 27, 1927 (deceased 1972).
From early childhood he loved the railroad. Became an engineer on the South Central District, Utah Division of the Union Pacific until his retirement in 1974. Enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family.
Married Dorine Kandt in 1977, they had 26 happy years together.
Survived by his wife, daughter-in-law Donna N. Haycock, three grandchildren: Carole Clark (Jack), Connie Kelson (Ron) and Steven L. Haycock (Maridee), four great-grandchildren: Christopher R. Kelson (Christa), Lesley H. Lundeberg, Shelley D. Kelson, Kristina Haycock, one great-great-grandson due April 2003. Also survived by step-children Carol Farr, Gilbert Kandt, Dennis Kandt, four step-grandchildren, one step-great-granddaughter, three sisters: Dorothy Ward (Archie), Vera Mamanakis, Mildred Vuksinick (Rudy), sister-in-law Dorothy Peterson (Clyde). Preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters and his son, Spencer L. Haycock.
