Son of Luther and Mary Hazelton his grandpartents are Amzi and Jerusha (Smith) Doolittle. He married Susannah Cary (d/0 Richard and Marsina (Ford) Cary, October 12, 1801. Richard Cary served under General Washington in the Revolutionary War.) Mr. Doolittle lived in Cattaraugus and Erie Counties, NY; Pennsylvania; and Michigan before moving to Winnebago Co IL in 1837. He lived in Harlem Township, and then Guilford Township. Known children: Diadama; Ira (killed at 18 months by shears thrown by a playmate); Sarah; Julia; Philetus Swift; Clarissa; and Harry Clinton.
