FRANCES E. PATTERSON - A daughter of pioneer parents, Frances Elizabeth Patterson, 88, died Monday at her home 1627 NE 10th Avenue. Services will be held today at 2:30 P.M. in the J.P. Finley & Son Chapel, with Rev. Oswald W. Taylor of the Grace Memorial Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will be in the Lone Fir Cemetery.

Mrs. Patterson was born February 9, 1852, on the donation land claim of her father, George W. Evans, a West Point cadet who came west in the gold rush of 1849 and later married Iantha Jane Davis, who came west by ox-team in 1847. Eugene was later built on the site. Mrs. Patterson attended Bishp Scott's academy and St. Helen's hall. She married Thomas Patterson one-time state printer of Oregon.

Survivors include a daughter Edna F., and a brother, W. R. Castleman, both of Portland; a sister, Annabell Games of Berkeley, Cal., and four grandchildren.

Mrs. Patterson has been ill for several months.
