Barbara Evard Baute, 59, of Columbus, passed away from cancer at 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2010, at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Barb was born November 25, 1950, the daughter of Violet Evard Lehman, and graduated from Columbus High School in 1969. She married Earl Baute on November 28, 1970.
Barb was office manager at Foreman Investment Services until the time of her illness. She also worked many years at The Solutions office of Quinco. She enjoyed golf, fishing, reading, outdoor activities with friends and family and special trips twice a year to Panama City Beach, Fla.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Baute; sons, Keith Baute of Indianapolis and Brian (Gretchen) Baute of Charlotte, N.C.; four grandchildren, Cameron, Kierstin, Raegan and Caedon; and sisters, Brenda Ross of Columbus, Linda Evard of Edinburgh and Paula Van Nover of Lubbock, Texas.
Arrangements are being made by Norman Funeral Home of Hope.
In keeping with Barb's wishes, cremation is planned. There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 7 p.m. Friday, May 7, at Elk's Lodge in Columbus.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her name to American Cancer Society, Hospice of South Central Indiana or the donor's choice of charities.
