Harmon Benson Allen, 76 year old, Tulsa, Oklahoma area resident passed away on Saturday December 25, 2010, following an extended illness.

Harmon was born on October 24, 1934 in Colcord, Oklahoma to Ray Benson and Gertrude Hyde Allen. He grew up in the area and attended Mt. Hermon Church as a young man.

After graduating from Jay High School in 1952 Harmon attended Northeastern State, where he received his Bachelor of Arts Degree, soon after graduation he joined the United States Army and served his country in Germany and other parts of Europe.

After his military service Harmon moved to Kansas City where he taught dance lessons for the Arthur Murray Dance Studio. From there Harmon then moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where he attended The University of Tulsa Law School and after graduation worked for several area firms.

Harmon was not afraid of hard work, whether farming, working cattle or truck driving, he excelled in many areas over the years. He spent most of his life mentoring people both on legal advice and personally from his heart. He was the kind of man who helped everyone he met and would go out of his way to do anything for anyone who ever asked.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on December 29, 2010 at the Mt. Hermon Church in Jay, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Mt. Hermon Cemetery.

A visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday December 28, 2010 at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Jay, Oklahoma.

The family ask that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mt. Hermon Church, or your favorite local charity in Harmon's honor.
