A Sad Death

This morning about half past 3 o'clock, Annie Francis, the infant daughter of Mr. Francis Beckwith, expired in her sleep at her father's residence on Third street. The deceased was a bright intelligent child and being the only offspring of its parents. The blow is a sad one to Mr. and Mrs. Beckwith. The cause of death was typhoid malaria.

Resolutions of Respect Passed by the San Antonio British Association.

Resolutions of sympathy and condolence tendered by the members of the San Antonio British association to the parents of Annie Francis Beckwith, aged nine months, born in Texas, who died in San Antonio on the 14th day of June, 1883, after a painful illness.
It was but a little floweret culled by the Great Creator's hand.
Resolved, That we tender to the bereaved parents our most heartfelt sympathy in this, their great loss, but trust that they will remember that it is but a wise dispensation of an all-wise Ruler.
Resolved, That while deploring their bereavement, we beg them to remember that He who gave has but taken, pure and sinless, unto himself again. And that when their own time comes there will be a little angel waiting to welcome them at the golden gate.
Resolved, That a copy of these resolutions be spread in mourning upon the minutes of the association, that a copy be sent by the Corresponding Secretary to Mr. and Mrs. Beckwith, and that they be published in the daily papers.
