Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 2, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel in Carencro for Weston "Goonoo" Credeur, age 82, who passed away Thursday, August 31, 2006 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
Interment will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery in Carencro. The Rev. Bill Melancon, pastor of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Mr. Credeur was a native and lifelong resident of Carencro. He retired in 1989 as a Maintenance Supervisor with the Lafayette Regional Airport after 21 years of service.
Survivors include two brothers, Israel Credeur and his wife, Edmonia and Paul Credeur and his wife, Earline, all of Carencro and his nieces and nephews, Mike Credeur, Gail Comeaux, Melinda Faul, Glenn Credeur, Keith "Flap" Credeur and Mimi Credeur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fernest Credeur and the former Eucharist Stelly and a dear friend, Estelle Pigron.
Pallbearers will be Mike Credeur, Glenn Credeur, Keith "Flap" Credeur, Bennett Broussard, Shawn Credeur and Grant Credeur. Honorary pallbearers will be T-Mike Credeur, Brody Faul, Larry Comeaux and Blake Callandret.
Melancon Funeral Home, Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel, 4117 N. University Avenue Carencro, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements.
