Obituary

Sarah A., daughter of George W. and Mary A. McVicker, was born near Morgantown, W. Va., September 14, 1843, and passed on to her reward April 23, 1931, aged 87 years, 7 months and 9 days.

She was married September 19, 1861 to James M. Casey, who preceded her in death March 1, 1906. Six children were born to them: Helen and Linnie who died in infancy, Clara May whose death occurred at nine years of age, and William H. who was taken when 32 years old. Two children survive, Mrs. George Shriver of Allerton and Melville Casey of Corona, Calif. Three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also mourn her passing.

She was converted and became a member of the Methodist church when 18 years of age and ever since has remained steadfast in that faith. The first 7 years of her married life was passed near the place of her birth in West Virginia. In 1868 the family moved to Woodford county, Ill., and remain there until February of 1877, when a new home was made about five miles west of Allerton on a farm. In the spring of q8191 they moved to Allerton, which has been the family home since that time.

Mrs. Casey was a friend to those who needed one and a dear good mother to her children. She knew Him in whom she had believed and served Him faithfully and well. Now she has gone home.

Funeral services were conducted at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Geo. Shriver, by her pastor, Rev. Alta M. Nichols Saturday at 2:30 p. m. Intermet was in Allerton cemetery.
