OBITUARY
Mrs. Sam Heston, aged 64, a life long resident of the Belvue and Wamego communities died at her home in St. Marys Saturday after a brief illness.
Ethalinda George, the daughter of S. E. and Mary George was born near Belvue Sept. 25, 1878. She became a member of the Belvue Methodist church in 1929 and has been a consistent worker in the church ever since.
On September 30, 1894 she was married to Sam Heston of Belvue at the home of her parents. To this union sixteen children were born, seven dying in infancy the remaining nine with the husband survive her. For the past 14 months they have made their home in St. Marys. Her death came as a shock to all as she had been in her usual health just previous to her death.
The children surviving are Wm. E. Heston of Marysville, Mrs. George Yockum, St. Marys, Albert F. Heston, Emmett, Mrs. Carl Hoffsett, Wamego, Glenn Heston, Belvue, Carl O. Heston, Topeka, Mrs. Melvin Timmons, Belvue, David L. Heston, Neosha, Mo. There are also 40 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Belvue Methodist church with the Rev. J. J. Clinton, pastor of the church in charge. Burial was at the Polly Creek cemetery.
