Mary E. Callan, 90, Michigan City, Indiana passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at 6:24 p.m. in St. Anthony Memorial.
She was born August 6, 1920 in Warsaw, Indiana to the late Charles and Ethel (Murray) Deardorff. On July 6, 1954 in Michigan City, IN she married Richard J. Callan who preceded her on October 31, 1995.
Surviving are daughter, Judy (Jim) Thorne of Chesterton, IN; a brother, Merrill (Alice) Deardorff of Pharr, TX; and 3 grandsons, Jason (Gretchen) Thorne of Noblesville, IN, Douglas (Katie) Thorne of Fishers, IN, and Scott Thorne of Chesterton, IN.
She was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Lucille Deardorff.
She was a Bookkeeper at Dan's Body Shop and was a member of Queen of All Saint's Catholic Church where she was on the Peace and Social Justice Committee and the Rosary Sodality. She was also a member of the St. Anthony Memorial Guild volunteering in the gift shop, Red Hat Society, Michigan City Senior Center, 1938 Isaac C. Elston graduating class, Delta Wives and a volunteer at Dunebrook.
