Family will welcome friends Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Schellhaas Funeral Home, Ltd., 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Sepulcher Church, Glade Mills, with Fr. Albert Semler, celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow in Assumption Cemetery of St. Mary Church, Glenshaw.
A WWII Army Veteran who served in the Pacific Theater, John was a retired quality control manager for Blaw Knox Steel Co. He was a longtime and devoted parishioner of Holy Sepulcher Church, where he was a member of parish council, men's club, gave hay rides to children during the annual bazaar, and was an active member of Knights of Columbus Council 10175. John and his wife Anne loved to square dance, where they were longtime members of the Keystone Square Dancers. He also was a member of C.I.O. United Steel Workers, Penn Township Veteran's Association, Lyndora American Legion, and was treasurer of Henderson Cemetery Association. Family suggests donations to Holy Sepulcher Church Building Fund, 1304 E. Cruikshank Road, Butler, PA 16002.
