Callie Burns
Salem - Callie Burns, 89, of 1380 S. Lincoln Ave., died at 12:45 p.m. Thursday at Essex II following a long illness. Born Feb. 23, 1911, in Georgetown, Pa., she was the daughter of Frank and Edna (Allison) Campbell. Mrs. Burns moved to Ohio in 1936, residing in Salineville for 37 years and then in East Liverpool and Salem. She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Salineville, its Altar and Rosary Society, and American Legion Auxiliary of Salineville. She was preceded in death June 24, 1959, by her husband, Blaise S. Burns, whom she married Nov. 1, 1938. Survivors include three sons, Robert V. Burns of Salineville, Thomas G. Burns of Minerva and Michael R. Burns of Salem; two daughters, Mary E. Perorazio of East Liverpool and Joyce A. Stein of Lisbon; a sister, Ruth Campbell of Aliquippa, Pa.; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by two daughters, Deloris M. Sevek and Alice Burns; two sisters, Thelma Wright and Bonnie Higgins; a brother, Frank L. Campbell Jr.; a grandson and a great-grandson. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church with Father John Tully and Father George Balasko officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Arbaugh-Pearce-Greenisen Funeral Home where a prayer service will be held at 8:45 p.m. Sunday.
