Kathryn M. Herter, 82, of Mount Zion, died Thursday, March 21, 2002, at Heritage Manor in Mount Zion. She was born May 24, 1919, in Springfield, the daughter of John J. and Kathryn Myers Watt. She married Edward C. Herter Jr. in Springfield in 1946; he died in 1972. Mrs. Herter was a teacher at Rochester Middle School for 20 years. Survivors: two sons, Edward C. (wife, Debbie) Hertier III of Springfield and William M. (wife, Debbie) Herter of Las Vegas; two daughters, Barbara K. Christison of Creve Coeur and Betsy (husband, Randy) Miller of Mount Zion; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Dave (wife, Marietta) and Robert (wife, Virginia) Watt, both of Springfield; a sister, Musette Argus of Springfield; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 10 a.m. Monday, Vancil Memorial Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Joseph Eby officiating. Burial: Roselawn Memorial Park.
