Maria Dominguez Baca, 92, a former Faywood resident, passed away Tuesday at Mimbres Memorial Nursing Home. Visitation was to begin at 2 this afternoon at Baca's Funeral Chapels in Deming with the prayer vigil following there at 7. Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated Saturday morning at 10 at San Jose Catholic Church in Dwyer with the Rev. Dan Porter officiating. Concluding services and burial will follow at the Dwyer Cemetery. She was born Aug. 5, 1905, in San Lorenzo to Valentine Dominguez and Rafaela Marquez. On Nov 4, 1925 she married Cipriano Baca. She was a homemaker and a communicant of the Catholic Church. She passed away on her 72nd wedding anniversary. Survivors include two sons, Genaro Baca and his wife, Nellie, of Dwyer, and Roberto Baca and his wife, Dolores, of Albuquerque; three daughters, Andrea Aguilar and her husband, Ernesto, of Whittier, Calif., Eloisa Madrid and her husband, Paul, of Bayard, and Herminia "Minnie" Strickland and her husband, Norm, of Apollo, Pa.; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and special friends, Cecilia Serna,Gloria Mudge and Glenna Hobbs. Her husband, Cipriano T. Baca; three sons, Salvador, Luis and Alejandro Baca; a grandson, Alex Baca Jr.; and one great-grandson, Jude Sierra, preceded her in death. Serving as pallbearers will be Bernardo Chavira, Rudy Dominguez, Ray Dominguez, Benny Madrid, Robert S. Baca and Arturo Aguilar. Honorary pallbearers are all her grandchildern.are all of her grandchildren. Entrusted to the care of Baca's Funeral Chapels of Deming.
