A number of years ago, when I was a small girl Uncle Floyd and Aunt Margaret Kyle adopted a small girl by the name of Jennie. She grew up to a young lady and married Albert Perkins. Her sister was adopted by a family by the name of Donnelly who lived in Newark Valley and were in the Business of selling Tombstones. These girls both skipped out never heard from then since. When Uncle Floyd Kyle died, they settled his estate as though they had died.

Catatonk, June 4 - Floyd Kyle died at his home here Saturday, May 31, aged 80 years. He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Harlow Dence, of this place, and Cora Kyle who resides at home. The pallbearers were L.C. Burt, R.L. Whitmarch, R. D. Burt, and Sidey Tott.

S. Floyd Kyle, a well-known farmer, died on Saturday morning, May 31, at his home near Catatonk, aged 80 years. His funeral was held Monday afternoon, Rev. W. H. Cutler of Candor , officiating. The burial was in the Woodbridge cemetery at Catatonk. Mr. Kyle was a son of Thomas and Margaret Yerks Kyle, and was born Sept 11, 1843 in Orange county. He had lived 35 years at Catatonk where in addition to conducting a farm, he engaged in stock buying. He leaves a wife and two daughters, Miss Cora Kyle, and Mrs. Harlow Dence of Catatonk. He was a brother of J.A. Kyle of Santa Ana, Calif and Mrs. Noyes Wentworth and Mrs. Jane Lane of Candor.

ANDERSON HILL, JUNE 3 - The sad news of the death of Samuel Floyd Kyle, of Catatonk, reached here Saturday afternoon. He passed away Saturday morning at his late home, after a long period of arduous suffering. He was a son of the late Thomas and Margaret Yerks Kyle, and they removed to this place when their family were young. I do not know the exact time, but it was more than sixty-eight years ago, and the parents resided here until all were grown and with one exception settled in homes of their own. S. Floyd Kyle was twice married. His first wife was Margaret Howard, of this place, and they were married in 1864 and began housekeeping here. Later they moved to the middle west, where they resided a few years, then returned to this place, where they resided several years, when they purchased the home at Catatonk, where he has since resided. Mrs. Kyle died at this home many years ago. A few years later he married Emma Stuart, who survives him, also two adopted daughters survive, Mrs. Laura Dence and Cora Kyle at home. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Jane C. Lane and Mrs. Clarissa M. Wentworth, of Candor, and one brother, James Aaron Kyle, of Santa Anna, Cal., and many nieces, nephews and grandnieces, to mourn his departure. He was a kind and loving husband, father, neighbor, and friend and will be very much missed by all with whom he associated, or was known. The funeral was held Monday afternoon and largely attended at his late home and interment was made in the family plot in Woodbridge cemetery.

Wheeler. His second wife was Miss Emma Stuart from near Owego. He was a kind and loving husband, neighbor and friend, and one who will be very much missed by all who knew him. Thus one by one all of our older friends and former neighbors are leaving us. Not one person now resides in this place who were here fifty years ago. For a time just your correspondent was the only one left here, now she is elsewhere.
