C. & Mary (Swigier) Beitzel, and Bessie Barley, 24, born Plainfield, daughter of William & Mary Ann (Barley) Barley, were married February 18, 1916 at Carlisle, Pa. Both state no previous marriages. On Friday, February 18th, in Carlisle, by the Rev. M.A. Kennelly, pastor of the Evangelical church (sic), John Beitzel, solicitor of the Bell Telephone company, and Miss Bessie Barley, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Barley, stenographer in the office of the Prudential Life Insurance company, were united in marriage.

Mrs. Bessie Barley Beitzel, wife of John Beitzel. Walnut Street, a well-known Bell Telephone company man died at the Carlisle hospital Monday evening about six o'clock after a comparatively brief illness. She was admitted to the institution Monday morning about two thirty o'clock. The news of her death came as a great shock to her husband and to her parents and brothers and sisters. She had been in the best of spirits Sunday evening. Mrs. Beitzel was 26 years of age and is survived by her husband, a young son two days old, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Barley, of D Street, a sister Carrie, who is in Illinois on a visit to friends, and the following brothers, Charles, Roy, and Albert of Carlisle, Clarence, of Naperville, Illinois, and James, of Jermyn, Pa. Mrs. Beitzel was a loving wife, and possessed those traits of character that won for her many friends. She was a member of the First Reformed church (sic).
