♥ Butch's first day with our family was August 6, 2005 ♥
On December 11, my Cat Butch passed away at about 2:00 P.M. E.S.T. I took him to the vet at around Noon with a suspected fur ball obstruction. He was treated for that, but had breathing difficulties - X-rays were taken, no major problems. Brought him home; he was resting. Every once in awhile he would make a low meow sound. Kept checking him; then I noticed he did not appear to be breathing. Tried in vain to revive him but was not successful. Contacted the vet; he said Butch probably had a blood clot. How that happened is a mystery to me.
I got Butch on August 6, 2005 from a neighbor, Francis "Frank" Funk who had passed away in July 2005. He had been living in the house by himself with the family checking up on him several times a week for food, water, etc. The family had a home for his Pomeranian dog but not the cat. The two were best of buddies but the family decided they still were going to split them up. So I volunteered to take him. He was the only pet here that got along with our dog, Pepper, and our other cat, Mewer.
He was the friendliest, nicest cat I had ever met. He would come to you whenever you would call his name; and had the loudest purr to always let you know he was happy !
It is a very sad time now as I thought Butch would be around for a lot longer than this.
