CANAJOHARIE - Mrs. Adella Brougham, 84, widow of Howard Brougham, died Wednesday afternoon at the Quebec nursing home in Amsterdam after an extended illness. She was born in Glen Jan. 11, 1862, daughter of John and Rebecca (Hill) Van Patten and lived for many years at Flat Creek. She was a member of the Baptist Church of Ryders Corners. Survivors are a daughter, Miss Harriet Brougham of Utica, two brothers, Colonel (*Kernal) Van Patten of Gloversville and William Van Patten of Johnstown; and a sister, Mrs. Cora Miller of Amsterdam; nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Lenz funeral home with Rev. William M. Knorr, pastor of the First Presbyterian church of Perth, officiating. The body will be placed in the vault of the Canajoharie Falls cemetery until burial in the spring in the Sloansville cemetery.

Her mother died when she was 3 yrs old and she was raised by John Van Patten's second wife Zeruia Grandy Mount Van Patten.
