FLETCHER John Elonzo Fletcher 86 of 2210 Linwood Rd died Wednesday in an hospital. A resident of Gaston County for 70 years he was a retired contractor.

He is survived by six sons: Monroe, Paul Lee, James, Norman, Arthur S., and John E. Fletcher, Jr all of Gastonia and Dwight Earl Fletcher of Stockton Calif; two daughters Mrs. Ophelia F. Givens and Mrs. Margaret F. Oakley both of Nashville, Tenn. one brother Horace B. Fletcher of Gastonia 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m Friday at McLean and Son Funeral Home by Revs. Harold Rickman, C. Wesley Lovin, and Dr. W. Harris Blair. Burial will be in Gaston Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of Norman Fletcher, 2415 W. Franklin Ave. and will receive friends at the funeral home tonight.
