Eloise P. Burns, 80, a 49-year area resident and educator, died at the home of her sister in Lincoln, California on September 24, 2004.
Mrs. Burns was born in St. Albans, WV, on September 9, 1924, to Mr. and Mrs. R.E. Parcell.

She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph E. Parcell, her mother, Anna Mabel Parcella and her niece, Diane Dobie Kiser.

She is survived by her sister, Jo Ann Bronzan of Lincoln, CA; a nephew, Joseph Dobie of Morro Bay, CA; a cousin, Susan Roberts of Port Lavaca; and four grand nieces, Rebecca Kiser of Port Lavaca, and Emily, Greta and Ellen Dobie, all of California.

Mrs. Burns graduated from St. Albans High School in West Virginia in 1942, and from Marshall University in 1946, and received her Master's Degree from Stephen F. Austin University. She moved to Calhoun County in 1955 and taught at Jefferson Elementary School. She later taught at Travis Jr. High and was a counselor at Calhoun Co. High School until she retired in 1985.

Mrs. Burns was an elder at Grace Community Church.

Visitation will be at Richardson-Colonial Funeral Home on Thursday evening at 6:00 pm. Services will be conducted at Six-Mile Assembly of God Church on Friday at 10 AM with Rev. Billy Faltesek officiating. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Pallbearers are: Gary Heideman, Alvin Downs, Bill Hull, Dave Roberts, Duke Johnson and Billy Ray Faltesek.

Honorary Pallbearer: Dr. Roberet T. Bronzan.
