Jane Loretta Woolford, 83, of Somers Point, passed away Sunday at Shore Memorial Hospital after a long illness.

Jane was born in Ventnor, the daughter of Harry and Florence (nee Lane) McGettigan and was a graduate of Atlantic City High School.

During her youth, Jane was a well known model for both The Marie McCullough Modeling Agency and the Philadelphia Models Guild. Some of her fondest memories were of her modeling days at the Atlantic City Race Course.

Jane met and married William (Wooly) Woolford and the two made their home in Gladwynne, Pennsylvania. For many years she was an active member of the Philadelphia Country Club.

Aunt Jane, as she was known to everyone, was especially proud of her skeet shooting awards she received over the years as a member of the club. Although Jane and Wooly divorced, they continued their loving relationship until Wooly's death in 2004. During this time, Aunt Jane relocated back to Southern New Jersey to Greate Bay Country Club in Somers Point where she was also a member. Those of us lucky enough to have been invited to her many parties at Greate Bay for the Shop-Rite LPGA tournaments, will always remember looking off her patio on to the 17th fairway as the players made their way to the 18th tee.

Now with her modeling days behind her, Aunt Jane went to work in the Casino Industry as secretary to Robert Trump, of Trump Construction, during the building of the Trump Plaza Casino. When most people are thinking of retiring, Aunt Jane could not and so she got her Real Estate License and went to work for Farley-Ferry Real Estate as an agent until the age of 76.

Aunt Jane was predeceased by her parents Florence and Harry McGettigan, her brothers James and Harry (Junior) McGettigan, her sisters Peggy Lovern, Florence "Happy" Lingo, Bettyann Yeomans and Frances Klein. Aunt Jane often said she had "not chick nor child", but she is survived by her many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated Saturday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, California and Atlantic Avenues, Atlantic City. The Rite of Committal will be offered at a private burial in the Woolford-Mace Family Cemetery in Woolford, Maryland.
