Death came suddenly Sunday morning for a life-long resident of Anoka County, Mrs. Carl H. Collen, who apparently suffered a heart attack at her Coon Lake home. She was 66 years old. Funeral services for Mrs. Collen were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Coon Lake covenant church with the Rev. Lloyd Fling officiating. Mrs. Roger Williams was the soloist and Mrs. Phoebe Wellman the organist. Interment was in the Victor Hill cemetery. Mrs. Collen was born Randy M. Pederson on January 12, 1898, in Anoka to parents Bernhard and Marie Pederson. She grew up in Anoka County attending the Oakdale school from 1905 to 1912. On July 22, 1916, she was married in Anoka to Carl H. Collen, Mr. Collen died on February 19, 1956. A member of the Coon Lake Covenant church Mrs. Collen took an active part in the Missionary Guild of the church. She is survived by eleven children. One son preceded her in death. There are 22 grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters and five brothers.
