Pink Burgess Acuff Jr., 74, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Thursday, February 28, 2002, at the Veterans Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn.

Born July 13, 1927, in Caruthersville, son of the late Pink Burgess and Delphia May Mills Acuff, Sr., he was a deacon and a member of the First Baptist Church, a member of Gideon International, DAV and the American Legion. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in the Korean War, and a owner/operator of a service station and a City Collector in Caruthersville.

On December 26, 1955, in Caruthersville, he married Miss. Edyth Mae Wafler, who survives of the home.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Edith Genevieve Acuff.

Burial was in the Maple Cemetery.
