Alvie Price, 82 of Norman, Oklahoma, died Thursday, April 15, 2004 at Norman Regional Hospital after several strokes. Services will be held at 2pm, Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Norman with Pastor Ken Huddleston officiating. Services are under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home. Alvie was born January 24, 1922, in Stratford, OK to Elmer and Mammie Price. He attended Moore Schools and Boeing Aircraft School. He served in the U.S. Navy from November 1942 until he was discharged in July 1944. Alvie married Lura Mae Tener on September 15, 1944 in Moore, OK and moved to Norman in January 1945. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 9 years, for Armor Meat Co. for 3 years, Tinker Air force Base, where he retired in 1981, and then Primrose Funeral Home until June 1988. Alvie loved antiques, working on antique clocks, fishing, and aggravating his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He helped start Suburban Baptist Church in Moore and has been a member and greeter at Immanuel Baptist Church since 1973. Alvie is survived by his wife of the home; daughter, Jo Nell Lunow and husband, Gary, of Moore; son, Jerry Price and wife, Martha of Norman; two sisters; one brother; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
