The Late Mrs. G. B. Clawson -- Mrs. Martha A. Clawson was born February 26, 1850 in Vermillion county, Illinois, and departed this life at her home seven miles west of Geneva St 4:30 a. m. Tuesday, October 10, 1922, aged 72. Years, 7 months and 14 days. She was married January 15, 1871 to Garret B. Clawson at Rossville, Ill. To this union were born five children, Ira of Curds, Neb., Anna M. Doud of Dunning, Neb., Willard of Geneva, Albert B. of Geneva and John L. of Geneva. Mrs. Clawson had been in ill health for some time but she endured her physical pain and suffering with great courage. The funeral was conducted at the home, at 2 p. m. Thursday, October 12, by Rev. R. H. Thompson. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. (Nebraska Signal, front page – OCT 19, 1922)
