"Precious Doe" was a pseudonym assigned to the remains of an unidentified young girl (presumed to be aged between 3-4 years old) that was discovered on April 28th, 2001, in Kansas City, MO. After an autopsy was performed, it was declared that the girl had been murdered. The brutality of the crime, and the fact that the child went unidentified for a long period of time, sparked national interest. In an effort to identify the girl, police released sketches, computerized likenesses, and at least two busts depicting the victim. The case was featured on the TV programs "America's Most Wanted" and "Cold Cases Files" several times.

On May 5th, 2005, the body was finally identified, for she was 3-year-old Erica Michelle Marie Green. That same month, her justice was finally served when her mother and stepfather were arrested and charged with her murder, with the man sentenced to life in prison in December of that same year, while the woman was sentenced to 25 years in prison in 2008.
