She graduated from Farmington High School and attended San Juan College. Carol was employed as an administrative assistant with the City of Farmington. She married Jamie Bond in 2009.
Carol was preceded in death by her step-father, Frank Gilstrap.
She is survived by her husband, Jamie; mother, Shirley Gilstrap; father, Russell Brey; daughter, Tabitha (Elario) Sloniker; sons, Brandon Brey (Kristi) and Terry Sloniker (Holli); sisters, Pamela (Roger) Hamner and Linda (Lonnie) Somerhalder; three grandchildren, Alexandria, Maggie and Isaiah; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carol was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother and she will be greatly missed. She was a vibrant, energetic person who never knew a stranger. Carol enjoyed life with a passion for softball, yet her greatest passion was her grandchildren.
A memorial service for Carol will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, Bethany Christian Church, 711 E. 30th St. in Farmington.
Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington.
Pallbearers are Terry Sloniker, Brandon Brey, Lonnie Anderson, Elario Salazar, Justin Bond, Roger Hamner and Aaron Somerhalder.
