Although her grave stone gives her birth year as 1906, my uncle many years ago wrote and told me that it was really 1907, but that she had added a year to her age when she got married, and then just left it that way for the rest of her life. However, in the 1920 census her age was given as 13, which would have meant that she was born sometime in 1906. But the Newark Advocate of Feb 16, 1907 printed her birth announcement, which means my uncle was right. (Yet her birth was recorded as 1906 Feb 6 in a Licking County Birth Register. But that book is a compilation of 1906 and 1907 births, so the year was obviously written incorrectly at the top of the page.)

She and her parents moved to Tulsa, OK, when she was ten or eleven years old, and she went through school there. She met my grandfather in a grocery store run by the wife of one of his cousins, Eliza Jane Altman Minteer, when he was visiting, probably in 1924. They were married January 26, 1925 in Tulsa, then moved back to Avalon, PA, where their first two children were born. They were back in Tulsa visiting when their third child was born.

Meanwhile my grandfather and his father were building a house for his parents to move to, and when that was done, he must have come to Tulsa and gotten my grandmother, uncle, aunt, and father and taken them back to the house at 316 McKinley Avenue in Avalon, PA, where she and my grandfather and uncle lived until 1969, when they moved out to the house at 120 Siebert Road, where she lived for the rest of her life.
