Frances J. Currey, age 80 yrs., of Jacksonville, passed away September 4, 2010. The Jacksonville native was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Mrs. Currey will be remembered always as "Mom". She was a very outgoing and musically talented person who enjoyed many hobbies including bowling, horses, shooting, and clogging. Survivors are: her husband, Douglas Currey; her daughter, Jonette Boote ( Arthur); granddaughter, Sebrina Carter (James); 4 sisters, Alma, Noreen, Betty Lee and Janie; 2 brothers, Lewis and Leo Batten; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents were Leamon F. and Bertha Batten. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 12, at the Chapel of Corey-Kerlin Funeral Home, 940 Cesery Blvd. with Rev. William Oldring officiating.
