Bill was born August 15, 1928 in Yonkers, New York.

Military Enlistment:

In 1946, at the age of 18, Bill first enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps, which was later to be renamed the United States Air Force.

SMSGT William Moore, as a member of the US AIR FORCE, served in both Korea and Vietnam. Wounds he received in Vietnam plagued him for the rest of his life.

As a young soldier, Bill was stationed at Lowery Field, Denver, Colorado. He went into town to the USO and met volunteer Clara Schmidt. Eventually Bill's unit was shipped out to Korea. Clara continued to volunteer at the USO. While serving in Korea, Bill corresponded constantly, with Clara. Bill had found the love of his life.

Following his return from Korea, on May 18, 1952, Bill was married to Clara Schmidt at Longmont, Boulder, Colorado. They were married at the home of Clara's parents, Eva & Jake Schmidt. Aunt Eva is my Grandma Fran's baby sister.

This union produced 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl. Their first born child was a boy. He passed away shortly following his birth.

Bill was a career military man. Due to Bill's various duty assignments, the family traveled far and wide through out the world.

Following Bill's military discharge, he and wife Clara settled in North Dakota. Together they owned and operated a restaurant for 19 years.

Jan 5, 2001 at the age of 72, Bill passed away at home in Cllifford, Traill, North Dakota.

Following Bill's passing, Clara sold the restaurant and moved near their daughter.

Bill's widow Clara and my Daddy are first cousins. Their Moms are sisters.

As of this writing in 2010, Clara is very sharp and fairly well. Clara is now 80 years old. She truly appreciates all of you who leave a rememberance for Bill.
