Son of Dr. Bryant Tucker Ashmore 1862 GA - 1931 AL and Rosaella Bradley 1864-1905 of Eldridge, Walker Co., Alabama.

Grandson of Thomas Tucker Ashmore b@1822 GA and Eliza "Louisa" A. Brown.

Descendant of John Ashmore who arrived on the first ships, The Ark & The Dove, to the new Colony of Maryland in 1634.

Husband of Autie Mae Reed, daughter of John Posey Reed.

Father of Charles Edward Ashmore and Sarah Christine Ashmore Breeding 1916-1990.

He was a kind, gentle man and a true Christian who loved to sing hymns while he worked in the garden or around the house. A mechanic for the city buses of Birmingham, he was also a tinker and inventor who made wonderful toys for his grandchildren and useful items for his home.

His brick bungalow residence for many years was 2516 29th Place West, Birmingham, Alabama. He also had a board & batten cabin, painted pink, in the rural town of Calera, AL. That's where he met the widow Nellie Mae (Alexander) Frost 1895-1987 and married her August 1, 1971 in Montgomery, AL at the age of 81. The daughter of William Rush Alexander and Lenora (Allen) Alexander, Nellie's house was built around an original log cabin. Vester cultivated a huge vegetable garden there and grew colorful Zinnias and many other flowers as well.
