Fan was the daughter of William and Harriet Hepworth. Frances was William's sister's first name. She married John Loudfoot in Philadelphia . They had a daughter, Ruth (Gelbrich), born in 1912. In 1920 John died suddenly during the 1920 flu epidemic. Fan second married James Dean. They moved out to Oregon in 1922, but later divorced.
