Horace came with his parents, Ira and Rhoda (Chapman) from Chatham, Columbia County, New York, to Livonia, Livingston County, New York. He married Philinda Richardson in 1824 in Livonia, Livingston County, New York. In 1826 Horace and Philinda sold the property in Livonia that philinda had inherited from her father, and moved to Castile, Genesee (now Wyoming) County, New York. He returned in 1835 to Livingston County, New York, to the township of Lima, where he remained until his death in 1873. Horace married 2nd, Lucetta Ebenriter in 1853 in Lima, Livingston County, New York.
