"Linda Ruth O'Brien King, 59, of Lampasas died Thursday, November 20, 2003 in an Austin hospital.
The family received friends from 5-7 p.m. Friday, November 21, at Dodson Funeral Home. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m., Saturday, November 22, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas, with Father Jim Wooldridge of St. Mary's Episcopal Church officiating.
Linda was born in Lampasas on May 3, 1944 to George O'Brien and the former Billie Katherine Barker. She graduated from Lampasas High School in 1962. She married Raymond L. King on March 8, 1963 at Texas City, Texas. Mrs. King enjoyed collecting figurines, reading, writing, and her computer. Linda worked for Civil Service as a Contract Administrator at Fort Hood. She and her husband moved back to Lampasas in 1992 after being away for 20+ years.
Survivors are her husband, Raymond L. King, of Lampasas; daughter, Katherine L. Ludwig, of Little Elm, Texas; son, John L. King, of San Antonio; sister, Elizabeth Vanderheyden, of LaMarque, Texas; brother, Kenneth Anthony, of League City, Texas; one granddaughter, Shaelyn M. Ludwig, of Little Elm, Texas; cousin, Brad Lancaster, of Lampasas; cousin, Jan Vann, of Lampasas; and aunt and uncle, Betty Lynn and Delbert Whitis, of Lampasas.
The family requests memorials be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 4th & Chestnut, Lampasas, TX 76550.
