Graveside services for Imogene Bevers, 81, of Lubbock were held at 3 p.m. Thursday at Terrace Cemetery in Post with the Rev. Steve McMeans of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church officiating. Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Friday at Southcrest Baptist Church with the Rev. David Brooks officiating.
She died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, in Lubbock. She was born March 23, 1929, in Post to Garmon and Mattie (Stinnett) Hagood. She married Herschel "Happy" Bevers on Sept. 29, 1946 in Close City. She and Happy farmed in Garza County for many years.
Survivors include her husband, Herschel "Happy" Bevers of Lubbock;three daughters, Sherry Farquhar of Southland, Peggy Young of Abilene and Tina Marsh of Hurst; one son, Mark Bevers of Lubbock; one sister, Betty Moseley of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one grandson, Justin Haire, on Aug. 29, 1998.
