Services for Robert Montgomery Jones, 50, who was killed when the plane he was piloting crashed in a wooded area on the Robert Dudeck farm a mile north of North Liberty will be at the Community Congregational Church.
The plane crashed about three-tenths of a mile north of a private airstrip at the Maurice Lambert residence.
The cause of the crash was not determined immediately, but the plane was said to have come down at nearly a 90 degree angle.
Jones had been flying to Niles in the single-engine Commonwealth Sky Ranger and was alone in the plane when it crashed.
Robert was the son of Helen Elizabeth Montgomery & Charles McKinley Jones. He married Dorothy Ester Haddock March 10, 1945 in South Bend, St. Joseph Co., IN.
Robert was maintenance foreman for the National Standard Co., Niles, IN. He had lived in the area 33 years.
Surviving are his wife, his mother; a son, Robert Alan; a daughter, Kathleen Bucher; brothers William Isaac, Joseph and Jerald; sisters Mrs. Carl Cruse, Mrs. Carmelita Kagel, & Mrs. Terry Key.
Burial was in Chapel Hills Garden, Osceola, IN, outside Mishawaka, IN.
