Her mother was a niece of Lord Fornum of England.

On June 24, 1842 she had been married to George Washington Pleasants. She and her mother, who was a widow, went to Fort Bend county on a visit to her sister, also a Mrs. Brush, they having married brothers. Being pleased with the country they made it their permanent home.

Mrs. Pleasants died at Blanco, November 1, 1896, while on a visit to her daughter, Mrs. West. Her remains were shipped to Richmond, Texas and placed by those of her husband, his having been previously exhumed and reinterred in the Masonic cemetery.

Children of Mr. and Mrs. Pleasants were (1) Frances Cornelia, (2) Mary C., (3) Edward R., (4) Jesse G., (5) Frank P., (6) Guy M. Bryan and (7) Emma B. Pleasants.

--FRANCES CORNELIA PLEASANTS BELL was married to FRANT T LAFAYEETE BELL. Mrs. Bell died in Houston May 21, 1939, survived by her daughter Mrs. Willie B. Ransom of 2508 Genesee Street, Houston. She was also survived by a sister Mrs. Emma West, San Antonio and by ten grand-children and ten great grandchildren.

--MARY O PLEASANTS ROBINSON was married to William B. Robinson in 1865.

--EDWARD R PLEASANTS was married to Nettie Bell in 1869.

--JESSE G PLEASANTS was married to Ettie Moore in 1875. They had one son, Robert.

--FRANK P PLEASANTS died young.

--GUY M BRYAN PLEASANTS died at the age of nine years.

--EMMA B PLEASANTS WEST was born to John West in 1883. In 1939 Mrs. West was living in San Antonio.
