Phyllis A. (Webster) Fahey, 79, formerly of Whitman, died Thursday, Nov. 25, after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Joseph Vincent Fahey. Born and raised in Roxbury, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Emily (Duffy) Webster and a graduate of the High School of Practical Arts in Roxbury. She was a twenty year employee of JDA Enterprises of Brockton. Phyllis enjoyed traveling, sewing, following yard sales and finding great bargains. Her greatest joy however, came from the time spent with her family and their many gatherings. She is survived by her nine children, Richard Fahey of Cool, Calif., Douglas Fahey of Plympton, Deborah Diethelm of Southern Pines, N.C., Christopher Fahey of Taunton, Corrine Sealey of Clements, Calif., Sheila Fahey of Rock Hill, S.C., Brenda Cobis of Rochester, Brian Fahey of Whitman and Derek Fahey of Naples, Fla.; her siblings, Barbara Rose, Paul Webster, Malcom Webster, Lois Jordan and her life time friend, Jean Croghan of Hanson. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren and three great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Janet Norton and Miriam Downing. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 1, at 10:30 a.m., in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary), Whitman. Burial will follow in the Central Cemetery, Halifax. Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, Nov. 30, from 4-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Erin Croghan Scholarship Fund, #10152903, C/O Rockland Trust, 288 Union St., Rockland, MA 02370.
