Susie, age 89, was born in Lindsay, Oklahoma, when the area still was Indian Territory. She came to California in 1935 with her husband, the late William Bell. They settled in Corcoran where he was employed in ranching. He died in 1938 and she moved to Hanford in 1960. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Golden Rule Club, a 58-year member of the Rebekah Lodge, a member of the AARP, Neighbors of Woodcraft, Kings River Grange, Women's Relief corps, and the United Methodist Women.
