The son of the late Sikke and Alice Drent Kilk, he was born on August 20, 1921 in Uithuzen, Holland.
Sy came to America in 1930 and farmed in Rock Tavern and later in Pine Bush, where he also dealt with horses and cows. He was Pat Kelly's right hand man in his hay business.
Survivors include his sisters: Amnmna Reyns of Silver City, NC, Nettie "Toni" Budine of Walton, NY, and Josephine Meikle Zwart of Bullville, NY. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews both here and in Holland. He was predeceased by his brothers Henry and Cornelius.
Funeral services will be held on Monday November 29, at 11 a.m., at the DeWitt Funeral Home, 64 Center St., Pine Bush, with the Rev. Garritt Vanderschaff officiating. Burial will be in Scotchtown Cemetery, Scotchtown.
