George Abbott was the son of my ancestors, GEORGE & SARAH (FARNUM) ABBOTT. He married (1) Elizabeth Ballard on Sept. 13, 1689 in Andover and (2) Hannah Esty on July 21, 1707.

He built a house in Andover on land deeded to him by his father before his death located across and east of his father's homestead. After George, Sr.'s death, he received from his estate, meadow land. He was a farmer and shoemaker.

Signed a petition on behalf of the accused Mary Osgood, Eunice Frye, Deliverance Dane, Sarah Wilson Sr., & Abigail Barker during the Salem Witchcraft Trials. --Record of the Salem Witch-Hunt by Bernard Rosenthal

His will, dated Oct. 1, 1724, was probated Dec. 7, 1724. Uriah Abbott, his son, was named executor. His will names his widow, Hannah; sons: George, Jacob, Moses, Peter, Obed, and Uriah; daughters: Sarah and Hannah; granddaughter: Elizabeth Foster, daughter of Elizabeth, deceased.
