Alice Lamar Delashmit was born five miles west of Grayville, Ill., on October 18, 1971 and passed away Sunday, July 26, 1942, age 70 years, 9 months and eight days.
She was united in marriage to John Delashmit November 1, 1891 and to this union seven children were born, three having died in infancy. Those remaining are two sons, Ancel at home and Ray of Griffin; two daughters, Mrs. Clara Elder of Flint, Michigan, Mrs John Brooks of Griffin.
Her entire live was spent in this community and for the past 35 years she lived at the home where she passed away.
For the pass eight months she was seriously ill but the loving devotion and tender care of her family helped her to bear with patience her intense suffering, She was always appreciative of any kindness shown her by her many friends.
Beside her husband and children already mentioned, she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Clara Fifer of Griffin and Mrs. Sue Denby of Stratsmore, Cal.; one brother, James Lamar of Crossville, Ill.; a half-sister, Mrs. Ida Armstrong of Princeton, Ind.; 8 grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were conducted at the home Tuesday afternoon in charge of Rev. Marlin of Grayville, Ill., with internment in Mt. Pleasant cemetery.
