Mrs. Virginia Anne "Ginny" Wall Blanks, 67, lost her battle with cancer Monday, Nov. 22, 2010, at the Harris Hospice Unit of Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, with the Revs. Bill McCutchen and Barry Yates officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memorial Park - S. Cherry Road.

Born in Rock Hill, Ginny was the daughter of the late William Herbert Wall Jr. and the late Cornelia Phillips Wall and was the widow of David L. Blanks.

She graduated from Winthrop University in 1965, with a B.S. Degree in Education. She retired from the Fort Mill and Rock Hill School Districts and also taught in North Carolina and Georgia. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her son, Stephen Blanks and wife, Allison, of Rock Hill; two daughters, Debra Bryant and husband, Dave and Tricia Allen and husband, Jason, all of Rock Hill; her sister, Susan Wall Bates of Fort Mill; and five grandchildren, Leah Bryant, Kayla Bryant, Anna Bryant, Brady Blanks and Baby Jase Allen due in April 2011.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 24, 2010, at the home.

Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society , 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210 or to Harris Hospice of Presbyterian Hospital, 200 Hawthorn Lane, Charlotte, NC 28204.
