Audrey "Maw, Aunt Mae" Punch Chabert, 73, a native and resident of Larose, passed away Friday, July 23, 2010.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to funeral time Monday at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church. Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the church, with burial in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy "T-Black" Chabert; five children, one brother, three sisters, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvere and Ariana Parr Punch; four brothers, Orice, Antoine, Alvin and Nolise Punch; and four sisters, Elenor Richadelle, Leona Delaune, Eva Guidry and Lelia Allemand.
Maw enjoyed life till her last days; she enjoyed family gatherings with her whole family. She also enjoyed going to casinos and was a caregiver to the elderly for many years, and was a Girl Scout leader for all her girls. Momma loved everyone she met, she never met a stranger. Maw enjoyed picking and growing butterbeans and was proud to be the daughter of a sharecropper.
The family would like to thank the staff and personnel of the CCU and all of the staff at Terrebonne General Medical Center for the exceptional care they gave Mrs. Audrey.
Samart-Mothe Funeral Home of Cut Off is in charge of arrangements.
